Positive Behaviour for Learning

NEW LAMBTON HEIGHTS INFANTS SCHOOL

SIGNAGE THAT promotes
values
At New Lambton Heights Infants School the values are respect, responsibility and personal best. The school mascot is a red ant called Yuyiring, Yuyuring is the Awabakal word for 'welcome'. Red ants share the school playground with the children and often test the children's resilience. Ants are a surprisingly relatable mascot for young children because, whilst small, ants work together as a team, are highly organised, they are strong and set large goals.
Values THAT effect
culture
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is an evidence-based framework that brings together the whole-school community to contribute to developing a positive, safe and supportive learning culture. The framework assists schools to improve social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes for children and young people.
Implementation of PBL requires the commitment of the whole school community and support of the principal and executive teachers to lead the process within the school.
By developing and using a common vision, language and experience to support PBL implementation The PBL values are displayed around the school, in classrooms and the playground. One the key to successful implementation is creating a recognisable visual style that encourages a common vision, language and experience.
